Frogs are interesting. They are slimy and
they are wriggly and they are very attractive to intrigued three year olds. They hop and they skip and they bound from
damp place to damp place. They are in short fascinating.
To
hold a frog is like holding God's world. God's world is slippery and difficult
to get hold of. Just when you think you have it held really well it wriggles
away from you. It is, like a frog, endlessly puzzling and frustratingly
inexplicable.
However sometimes, for just one moment, we are the three year old
with the frog in our hands. At that point we realise that we don't need to
understand the world. We just need to hold it in our hands and marvel at its
wonderfulness.
